What does light look like?
Digital Engineering designers attempted to answer this question while working on the website for lighting company MT Electro. After exploring dozens of options, the specialists decided not to look for a literal form for depicting light, but to express it abstractly. Thus, conveying the sensation of light became central to the design concept.
The white circle on the homepage leaves room for interpretation. A spotlight, a sunbeam, a lens, or the pupil of an eye reacting to ultraviolet light (thanks to micro-animation). Everyone will see something different. The dynamic “pulsars” that make up the updated logo serve as menu icons, a loading indicator, buttons for switching between sections, and case previews.
The black background, symbolizing the absorption of all visible electromagnetic waves, creates the perfect contrast for the white fluorescent elements, allowing them to “glow,” further recalling the brand’s natural beauty.
