This weekend, the search for inspiration took the Voskhod team to... Nizhny Tagil. “Not an obvious place for a weekend getaway,” you'll say. “Authentic!” - we reply.

We share our itinerary with those who want to free themselves from stereotypes:

  • Kuibyshev Open Air Museum-Factory. The only such monument of industrial heritage in Russia. Founded by the Demidov dynasty in 1725, the factory has been preserved in pristine condition to this day. It is really beautiful.
  • Museum of Fine Arts. You'll be surprised, but its funds store original works by Repin, Vasnetsov, Aivazovsky, Vereshchagin and even Raphael Santi. There is definitely something to see there.
Fox Mountain. Bonuses for those who conquered the top - a gorgeous panoramic view and the smallest museum in the country in addition.
  • "Yum-Yum Pizzeria" is for those who miss the taste of homemade baked goods. The pizza recipe there hasn't changed since 1995.
  • The Art Department of NTGSPI is a citadel of the best artists and designers of the country. At least, that's what one of its graduates, Vladislav Derevyannykh, brand-design director of Voskhod, tells us. In the corridors of the university there is a real gallery of modern free art.
  • You can't do without a walking tour. We advise you to start with the building of the Drama Theater with graceful sculptures of Vuchetich on the pediment, plunge into the atmosphere of “Soviet classicism” of the central streets and don't forget to walk along the embankment.
  • lastly - Tagil's suburbs. There is the Nevyanskaya Tower, Old Believers' temples, and a fairy-tale blacksmith's house in Kunar....
