Russia’s Association of Electronic Communications estimates that during the period between February-April 2022 around 130-150K IT-specialists left the country. It equals to ~10% of all IT employees in the Russian Federation, according to Russian Statistics Bureau.
Russia’s not alone in the situation of the brain drain. In April, we conducted a research that revealed Belarus is experiencing a huge wave of IT out-migration. ~30% of the country’s IT specialists have left Belarus, 30% more are to relocate. Poland and Georgia are among the most popular directions. IT recruiting has gained momentum as well.
IT has – yet again – proven to be the most liberal and agile industry. Belarus citizens will tolerate no borders, be it corporate or geographic ones, on their ways to positive political or economic situation and career development.
